2013 smothered this year
Comments on this photo
Absolutely gorgeous Amy . . . one of my all time favourites, except that mine doesn't flower like this, lol! Apparently they prefer acid soil: is that what you have? I was at the Savill Garden in Surrey recently, and they had masses of these, also smothered, wonderful.
Added to faves :))

Kat I'm sorry you lost yours we don't do anything at all to take care of it ,it's planted in a position in the open where it gets full sun /rain /snow everything that's thrown at it , Sheila it's my favourite to it normally flowers well , I'm wondering if they have off years where they store up energy ! or it might be due to the weather, yes we do have acid soil maybe that is the answer ,I would love one of the pink ones :o))

Mine have acidic soil too, but just Cornus florida (pink one) bloomed this and last year. It is slowly growing bush and also blooms after some years, however my question was targeted on fertilisation during the year.

I've never given it any fertiliser Kat Nothing at all I've checked with Hubby and he hasn't either whatever it's getting naturally must agree with it ....
