It's a lovely Sedum isn't it...but next year I need to remember to support it. My clumps have all collapsed!

Apparently you can give them the chelsea chop and it helps stop the flop, smaller flowers etc. try chopping some of it and leaving some of it, it worked well with the taller one I have. It hasn't flopped at all this time.

Mine end up all over the place, with a great gap in the middle, unless I stake them. I never remember at the right time, though, and end up with a great belt of string round the outside!

Hmm...chelsea chop is a bit risky this far north Mum! You'd be doing some serious praying for good weather if you cut off your flowers! :))) But I think I'll just put the supports in as soon as I can get in to cut them back in autumn, then I won't have to remember.

I have this fern Karen and now it's in the ground it's growing well but in a pot it didn't do very well.

I think all my ferns have done better in the ground Linda. Thanks!

I usually split up the sedums every few years and they are next to the compost bin with large slabs of slate at the front and that gives them some support. It is a good idea to support them with a few short canes at angles around the base.

This fern was really not doing well in a pot, but now it's in the ground it has taken off nicely.
