Went to Barnsdale in Rutland, also visited the late Geoff Hamilton's gardens, which was interesting, but a little run down I thought. Hadn't visited that part of the country before, so enjoyed the different scenery. I did take some pictures, but not ready to do a blog yet.

Somewhere I have never visited either ... did you have the dreadful rain that we had today? Started about noon and went on until 6ish ... :o((

Yes I did. Its been a miserable day really. Did manage to get outside for a while first thing and cut back a few shrubs etc.

Michael and I dug up all the King Edward spuds from the plot yesterday ... then sat beneath the shade of the vine at home this morning to clean and sort them this morning ... not my favourite gardening task!

That's a good job done then Shirley. Have you got enough to last a good while. Have you tried Wilja potatoes. My friend had those this year and I thought they were very good, don't break up on cooking and a nice flavour.

Masses of them ... all sorted into small, medium and large now! Not tried Wilja variety yet ... one for next year perhaps? With the awful wind and rain of yesterday the huge Sunflowers and Runner Beans on the plot were leaning over at dodgy angles ... managed to salvage the Beans but the Sunflowers have had to be uprooted. :o(

Glad you managed to save your beans. I love runner beans, I was afraid they may have packed up while I was away but there is still a few more pickings to be had.
