Cordyline Sunrise

I love these Amy! There are a lot of bargains around at the moment. I bought 2 Heucharas £2.00 each, and when I looked at them closely, they needed splitting, so got 4 plants!!

Love the colour of this one, not sure how hardy it is though!!

I have a similar one Angela C. Sundance it survived last winter with one of those plant protector bags over it's head ,I'll do the same again this year ...

That's lovely,Amy..I should have thought of a plant protector for the one I had..I tied mine up,and wrapped it in fleece,but forgot to keep checking it,after heavy rain,so it rotted in the centre ..I love that colour ..

Thats bad news Sandra , I hope that doesn't happen with mine it's hard to know how to protect them properly I expect a lot of it is pot luck !

Are the plant protectors waterproof Amy? I've never had one,so I don't know what they look like..If they are,I guess they might be better to take them off if it's fine during the day..depends on the temperature though ,doesn't it? or if you have to tramp through snow! :o(.

They're not waterproof Sandra ,they are made of a heavy duty fleece I buy them from Wilko's in pack of 4 ( you were in there the other day ) they are like a long bag with a draw string at one end to fit over the plant and then tighten the draw string to hold it in place , once we start getting frosts I leave them on until the spring .. No 'Pot luck 'is about right in gardening Lol sometimes it works and other times it doesn't !! x
