What a picture!

Thank you all. Am afraid i have not had much time to make a start yet. Spent summer n autumn renovating the house, grandchildren n bit of recovery time during winter, those two don't really go together lol! Started on house renovations again during the last few weeks, upstairs now. In between i do things like take the back hedge down to a foot, hoping it will rejuvenate, mainly for the wonderful views, having found that our prevailing wind howles in from the S and W, so thats all right, we keep them in place there.
The previous owner planted lots of evergreen bushes as she got older, they are coming out. Lots of little beds coming out, make raised veg beds, herb beds. Design terrace under birch tree n a small pond.
I will be pleased to get the garden prepped this year so i can start building up by nxt spring. Will do a blog when there is something to show. Away to the tip now with a van full of dead hedge!

You'll soon have this looking wonderful! Like you, the hedge had to come down in areas to let the view in! It looks a beautiful place...looking forward to the blogs!
