or you could leave them there and paint something on them like footsteps or butterflies lol let your imagination run riot. Plain colours every slab different, looks like a lot of hard work getting out the slabs so think painting is another option.

Are those spheric bushes lavenders? Very nice. It must be delight to walk along and rub them in a summer thus smelling their nice scent.
May I have suggestion : I would abolish that flat stones path and leave there just green lawn (on the left side) and translocate that flat stone path on the right side instead of current path. Otherwise there are too many "lines". But that is just how would I remake it, to make more space.

That will be a lot of hard work Dottie and the path doesn't look in bad condition. Can you not grow some lavender the other side to match and soften the path, then take out the little stepping stones to one side and grow grass in their place, moving the large pots with the greenery in to somewhere else in the garden. Just a thought.

Thanks all for your helpful suggestions........the concrete is very old and I do feel very ugly, we have tried growing lavender both sides but the path is too narrow, even with it clipped, the balls on the left are shaped lavender with 3 Pauls Scarlet clipped trees between them, the right side is formal also with obelisks and clematis and sweet peas in the summer. the conifers change position depending on the season.
Ydd we do have a cunning plan... remove the path, put gravel down to match the gravel which is on both sides, at the moment, which should make the path appear wider then set in some kind of stone, we wanted to use Timberstone sleepers, but they are going to be quite expensive!! but I have been looking at them for some time now, and would love to use them somewhere.
Katarina I do agree with you re taking the path out of the grass, we put it there to save the lawn because it leads to the bench.. we could then use the stone as part of the path.......if we could match them up( and remember where we bought them) lol

I love this walkway Angela I must admit i'm always trying to get rid of any concrete we've spent years replacing bits ,my OH groans everytime I suggest another replacement piece , we have one long piece left to do along the drive I'm not sure if it will ever get done it's a big job !

I am definatly not a lover of concrete, but your garden looks fabulous just the way it is,

Angela a nice brickweave path would make all the difference to what is already a fabulous garden .... we are lucky we have a brickweave person who dumps chipped or leftover bricks in his yard he lets us help ourselves and we do just that ,we have used loads of them in our garden ....

Wish you lived near...I need some crazy paving to extend a patio....could have recycled your concrete! ;)
