Yes Shirl, in a pot, new plants for me, tried them in the borders but they never flowered. Decided to try them in some gritty compost where they could get the sunshine and it worked for me. So pleased with them just love the colour there is supposed to be a white one in there but as yet no sign of it. Ah well maybe next year eh!

How many have you got in one pot Olive?
Yes they do like the sun. At one time we used to have them all along the base of a south facing wall of the house and they were marvellous. (it must have been dry & hot there I think)
Then we had an extension built - nerines had to be moved unfortunately!!
I have had them growing successfully elsewhere, but never as good as that first place by the wall.
Have you got anywhere like that to try a few?

Think there were 5 or 6 bulbs in there Shirl, yes I think I have a spot where I could maybe put some into in the front garden, where the sun gets to it most of the day and it is much drier in the place I am thinking of so they might just do well there. Will have to buy some more now as I will not move these that have flowered for me. :O)
They will look a picture in your front borders Michaella, you must try them, they like well drained soil and lots of sunshine.

Wonderful display of colour.
So nice to see on a rather grey November day.

They are lovely! ;-)) I've never grown them myself but I do know of several places around town where they have been growing in the same spot for many years. They always look so nice!

Thanks Balcony, they are still going strong, even after our first frost here on Saturday/Sunday. :O)

We had our first general frost last night 11-12th. It seems we have had some slight frost before that on the allotments as when I was down there a few days ago I saw the Dahlias in the plot next to Gerry's had died as well as the Pinto beans & runner beans on my plot.
We can't complain as the frost was 3 weeks overdue for the allotments field!

Such a beauty.
I moved all mine a couple of years ago because they were full of ground elder weed!! Most seem to have survived & had quite a few blooms this year.
I see your is in a pot though. Beautiful.
