Beautiful. My Viburnum tinus has never had flowers and berries in the same time, it is typical more for Citrus sp. Very impressive.

Love this shrub Janey ... I can see mine through the kitchen window ... makes doing the dishes less of a chore! Happy new year to you ... :o)

Janey...exciting news...We have chosen a greenhouse.. Have still to order it, but looking forward to it! Seed catalogues? Yes, a few...but haven't ordered any yet. So much to do here before I can start sowing seed. Some dry weather in January/February would be good!

A smashing shrub Shirley, it's been a sort of background type for me before, but its a stunner in the winter isn't it. Mines only small, on a stem of about 2ft, but great interest for my walled garden...:)).
Oh you will enjoy it Karen, mine has been giving me some gip this last couple of weeks with the high winds, panes flying everywhere. I think Ian would be proud of me up on the ladder with the clips nearly every day....think I've got the hang of them now....:)). Such a treat to be in it though on a sunny winter day.......
Thank you Bathgate and Scottish...:))

A stunning photo which is my first favourite of 2014.

I can just picture you Janey! Be careful out there...it's been awful here too. No flooding yet, but so muddy and I really do hate windy weather!

Happy New Year Janey, I love Viburnams, I too am looking for more winter colour, am too impatient waiting for spring colour, need colour now!!!Be careful up those ladders !!

Aw thanks Wildrose...:))
Will do Karen, a brighter day here this morning....actual blue sky!
And to you Gralew.....I'm just like you...can't wait for crocus and things, need colour now...:)). Mahonia is doing well, and the winter Jasmine, two sunny winter plants.
Panes have stayed put for 2 days which is a first.....just need the aerial man to come now, I'm a bit bored with Poirot, Marple and Midsommer Murders.........:))

What a beauty. Am just seeing if I can grow this, in CT. or in VT? Luscious

Janey, is it too late to plant winter jasmine now....There is a lovely(but expensive) garden centre near us, that has them at half price.Have looked in my gardening books, but none of them tell me when to plant!!. I could some of my Christmas vouchers.
2 Jan, 2014
It would be fabulous on your estate Posy, maybe two or three plants to make a very large planting....what a treat for winter....:))
Gralew, I would think it would be fine, the soil is still workable isn't it.....the other thing to do would be to plant the pot for now, surrounded with compost and a good mulching above. You could then plant it properly in Spring, when the flowers finish...also shape it and tie it in where you want it to be.

Thanks Janey.:-)

Happy New Year Sandra! Well they can get big, but this one is a standard in a pot.....just what you are looking for...:)). Yep, GH okay for now, not saying it too loud though!

This is one beautiful bush. I wonder if I can grow it in my climate. I also wonder if I might be able to control it. My two Viburnams, which I love, are huge and a but out of control. They would make a great hedge...

One to look out for Posy, this is in a pot and trained as a standard, but then mum in law has the same as a shrub 8ft high and wide, I suppose it's how you would like it......:))
