Thanks guys! I bought the bulb in Lidl four or five months ago.

That's a beauty I love the color better than the vivid red , our Lidls isn't very big and doesn't have the amount of plant / bulbs other stores larger stores have :o(

Green flowers are too much like leaves. I like flowers which are very bright red, yellow, purple and orange.

Crikey - you get some funny leaves in SoCal!!!

Some funny flowers indeed!!! :-D)
I like Amaryllis (I think most people on here know that by now! LOL!) & this one is lovely! I've added it to my favourites.
I discovered this past Saturday that one on my bulbs now has a stem about 15cm(6") high. It's from an offshoot though still attached to the mother. As there is a label in the pot with the colour I know it will be red. I'll be posting a blog on my Amaryllis shortly.

Meanie:
No funny leaves here in San Diego. LOL!
I haven't seen any Amaryllis blooming, yet. I'm not sure if the many gardens I know of around with mass-planted Amaryllis will be growing and blooming due to the extreme drought conditions this year. :>(

I had no idea Balcony!!!!
Seriously though, have grown any other members of the Amaryllis family? I was checking the tender bulbs in the shed the other day and a Sprekelia had tried to flower. It failed due to being dry and there being no light in the plastic storage container.

The rain here would probably have rotted them, even though it has been unusually mild here so far.

Meanie:
I thought Amaryllis liked a lot of water. (maybe it's the cold and wet that rots them?)

Spot on! A day of rain followed by an overnight frost...............

I saw a beauty yesterday, in fact so pretty, that I dropped an apple pie upside down and also myself. This Amaryllis was planted on pebbles, White double, and ruffed. But your yellow is gorgeous too, better stick to the computer ones. I have a couple threatening to bloom again. So glad you posted this one,
