Thank you,H.bird..Surprisingly he didn't ! I think he was checking everything out mostly..this one mustn't have a very high IQ ..Lol..he soon legged it back to the woods nearby :o)

How odd you don't get squirrells. A couple of years ago, I had the brilliant idea of growing tulip bulbs in pots so I could whip them out after flowering. I put them down the end of the garden out of sight. Unfortunately the squirrells also thought it a brilliant idea .... lots of little food larders:-(
Now this ones seen seen the banquet you've prepared for him ..... he'll be back:-))

I have to agree BA, they're not slow at finding a ready meal, whether it's stealing from the birds or digging up our spring bulbs, but I still love to see them.

26 Jan, 2014

It is odd,Ba..but the first one we've seen in the 12 years we have lived here..even the birds don't seem to be visiting the feeders as much this winter..mainly the ground feeders..Maybe they are getting better fed elsewhere..so much for NT bird food !
I've been listening to our regular gardening programme this morning, and he suggested putting bulbs in pots, such as snowdrops,Crocus, etc,to deter the birds from pulling them out, when the tips appear....he didn't mention Squirrels..and then, as they are ready for flowering, plant them in the garden,as the roots will have made them harder to tug at...I've not had a problem with Tulips in pots, and just leave them in..yours must be right little hooligans :o)

So you have problems too,Waddy? I must say,I enjoyed watching it,even though he didn't stay long..:o)..Our next door neighbour said the local Fox is still doing his rounds,as his security light came on at 4am this morning..so he got up to have a look..One,maybe not the same, has being coming for a number of years now,and always the same route :o)

Interesting...perhaps he had already eaten elsewhere! :)

Wow,what a great shot.

26 Jan, 2014

Great shot - I've never seen one around here either. Maybe he's just testing the water for food is a bit more scare.

We have squirrels here, Sandra, but fortunately not in our garden! At the bottom of our Close , there are many huge trees and its funny to watch them jumping from one to the other !
How are you Sandra ? I haven't seen you much on here lately !

26 Jan, 2014

Probably Karen, but I thought he would have made short work of the fat balls in the open mesh feeder..he wanted
Haute Cuisine ,I think :o)

26 Jan, 2014

Thank you Suey.I didn't dare go outside to take a photo,as it might have run away ..

26 Jan, 2014

Thanks Scottish..you could be right.I will keep a look out,if the weather gets a lot colder..he might not turn his back on it then :o)

26 Jan, 2014

I would love to see them as well,..our wooded area is on the hillside,so I can't see it closely enough from here..
I'm still here Rose..but haven't had much to say lately, only posted comments....that makes a change, doesn't it? Lol. Thank you,it's nice of you to ask :o) ..watch this space .. I'll be back ! xx

So funny are they not Bloomer like acrobats.

26 Jan, 2014

Definitely Tpb..Although lucky we don't have them on a regular basis,I guess..the odd one now and then,is fine by me..

26 Jan, 2014

Yes I only have one I hope it takes the fat coco nut shell off with it which is put out for the birds lol

26 Jan, 2014

:o))

26 Jan, 2014

Well caught Bloomer he must have eaten elsewhere first if he left your feast untouched :o)

26 Jan, 2014

Thanks Neena..he might have been concerned about the well being of the Birds! :o)

27 Jan, 2014

Great shot Sandra.....it's funny you should say about birds not coming to the feeders,I had a new bird table this year, and so far only 1 Magpie and the the usual pigeons.I'm standing at the window waiting and watching, getting nothing else done! Aah well, theres still plenty of berries on the pyracantha.....

27 Jan, 2014

Hi Sandra .. that's a super pic :o)

27 Jan, 2014

Thanks Val..I'm sorry your bird table is a bit unloved just now,but I'm sure if it comes a lot colder, they will appreciate it..all my red berries have been taken by the Blackbirds and Thrushes now, with only the yellow ones remaining..they are always their last resort....

27 Jan, 2014

Hi Terra, thank you..It was nice to be able to catch it in time, before it ran off :o)

27 Jan, 2014

A thoughtful squirrel now there's a thing the ones who visit here are pretty greedy! glad you have a nice one :o)

27 Jan, 2014

He must have seen a few episodes of Batman & Robin.

28 Jan, 2014

Lol,Paul..or waiting for suitable music to start,so it can do it's Pole Dancing routine ! :o)

28 Jan, 2014

Well done on getting a shot of the Squirrel ... made me think of that TV advert from years ago where a Squirrel did almost gymnastic feats to get to the Peanuts ... probably before your time Sandra ... lol!

28 Jan, 2014

You know better than that,Shirley..:o) but thanks for the compliment..I think ! Lol...I was pretty lucky to catch it..I do a lot of staring out of the window..not from behind the blinds either..in case you were wondering :o))

28 Jan, 2014

Hadn't crossed my mind at all, honest! :o)

30 Jan, 2014

Cracking photo Bloomer!
It's a shame that they're vermin. Since I got my second cat they tend to leave us alone now, but I've just dusted my air rifle off for my friend who is plagued by them in her garden.

3 Jun, 2014

Thank you Meanie..I still like them, vermin or not..I haven't seen it since that day..:o(
