Another nearby tree blew down in the recent winds and now bridges the pond. I am so glad it didn't fall this way or it would have filled my garden, squashing everything in its way.

Golly it shows how shallow rooted some trees are , we went to our churchyard yesterday in the village where we use to live and there were two of the biggest Beech trees down they looked to be very old it's such a shame ......

I bet it made the ducks jump when it landed! A chap living opposite saw it fall early-ish one morning. I wish it was the one that keeps shedding branches into my garden.

You'd have to be quick, Cmsue, we don't have gas in the village and lots of people have coal/wood fires so the smaller, manageable pieces go very quckly :)
