Oh Wow!! she's a beauty,aren't the iris gorgeous this year must have been all that sun last year baking them :-)

Very posh indeed with all her frills, they have been featured quite a lot on Chelsea this year and seem to be very popular at the moment;0)

I just love Irises. I find them difficult to grow here.

Linda, I was having the same problem until I found I could have gladioli come back successfully in the front garden. Tried some Iris there and this year, they've all done well and I should have some Iris flowers pretty soon. I've read that they are easy in pots and in fact came across a site once recommending it for growers in Scotland who find them difficult in the ground. If only I could remember which site!!

My garden isn't good for bearded Irises, as I plant too closely, and they prefer the sun on their tubers. I'm amazed that this lovely lady has survived! I do have Siberian Irises on the stream bank, and dwarf ones in the spring, though.

I might try the pot idea Scottish. My dad grew them so I think of him when I see them. :o)

That might work for me, too - I have plenty of pots although they're full atm.
