Thank you Alan..It has been a lovely sunny day so far,so it's been lovely to be outside..hope you have been able to do the same..

I'm always up early,Waddy..and so must you have been,to leave your kind comment.thank you..:o)I've never known the Camelia last so long..and still a few buds to open yet..
Russell has been painting walls this week,so I've been a bit of a pain,as he has had to keep breaking off to help me..I think he is smiling through clenched teeth,or he will be soon :o)..Have you tried washing one hand properly on your own? almost impossible.!..:o( x

Thank you Cinders..they are lovely aren't they? it must be at least 4 years since you gifted them to me..I look after them very well..:o)

Oh dear, poor Russell. Actually you have my sympathy, Bloomer. After 'd had my foot operation I remember vividly trying to shower whilst sticking my 'bad' foot out of the door as it hadn't to get wet..
'you put your right foot in, your right foot out, in out, in out, shake it all about!' ..
Off tomorrow to see Jan, so you take care of yourself until I get back xx

Ooh, a topless Camellia! Looking good though, fabulous Heucheras and a Dicentra to be envious of (just cannot grow them) ... horrible wet day down here ... cabin fever setting in. :o(

I was just going to add to my comment to you, about your visit to see Jan..I was sure it couldn't be long now..have a
wonderful time, and please give her my love..at least you know the ropes now,so it will be plain sailing..or should I say, flying :o) I know what you mean about the shower !!
see you when you get back.xxx

Topless indeed..:o) I wonder why you can't grow Dicentra,Shirley.? I must admit this was only new last year, but I am amazed it has done so well..I think they prefer a bit of shade, and it sounds as thought lack of water isn't your problem !:o( Thanks for your nice comment about the Heucheras..I love them too :o) x

The rain certainly makes the colours sing out in the garden. You've done a good job with the staking. It's a job I never seem to get right. I just can't seem to do it so that the plants still look natural. What have you done to your hand and how did I miss this?
26 May, 2014
Thank you T.bear.,I know what you mean about staking,as sometimes they look too bunched up,don't they? I often put in more than one stake, and tie half of a plant to each,so it looks more natural..well hidden,if possible..
Take a look at my last blog, all will be revealed about my stupid self induced accident duh!

29 May, 2014
I love the Camelia Sandra mine only had few tiny flowers this year ,your borders look brilliant so fresh and healthy :o))

Thank you ,It's never been as prolific as it has this year,Amy..and no frosting of the buds either.I've been so pleased with it..and the Heucheras.I've found them to be much better in the borders, than when I first had them in pots..They prefer this shadier area...

That camelis's amazing and your bed looks great, especially against that lovely coloured green/blue fence:-)
30 May, 2014
Thank you Ba..the last buds are open now,but it really has been lovely this year.glad you like the colour of the fence,it's lasted well,as it was painted when we first moved here,in 2002..only needed touching up in a few places since..good job,as it goes all around the back garden..
