Not for the faint hearted!

Not for the faint hearted!

I know it isn't strictly garden related but I went to a wild life park the other day and was brave enough to have this little lady say hello! The strange thing is I run when you get the big house spiders coming in looking for mates in the Autumn. I think it's because they run so quick that frightens me. Rose that was her name, just sat still on my hands and she was furry more like a hamster! lol Love them or hate them spiders do a lot of good in our gardens, and the webs look so pretty this time of year strung across the plants on a dewy morning!

I feel exactly the same! I held a tarantula at a Butterfly world in Edinburgh....I was so excited to hold her. But last night a spider ran across my carpet and I moved very fast out of the chair! :))

I think you are brave, Teds! The spider in Dr No was called Rosie, and also "starred" in a Bob Hope film. OH loves spiders. I am not so keen, but have learned to respect them and not hate or fear them. I agree that they do enormous good - just as well, as we have loads of them in the house, and their webs! Not too many flies, though!

I held some snakes, rat, stick insect, snail and a ferret not all at once through lol. ;-)

The stick insect would freak me, I have a phobia of green bugs Lol! Great photo Teds :o)

Funny thing is we haven't had any of the real big spiders in this year, we usually have at least 4 in the Autumn. Not that I mind but I do wonder why?

That is strange at least you don't have spiders webs hanging around Lol ...

Lovely. I love spiders too. We've had a lot of the large spiders in the house this year. I always say they've got to be doing some good to get that big anyway.

Unlike OH, I can't claim to love spiders. But I do appreciate them, and we sure don't have many flies!

It's my husband who tells me where the spiders are, he won't pick them up unless he has the bug catcher.
