Too sour to eat but good for cooking some traditional Mexican (Mayan) dishes. Owner of this house comes from Asia and they use it in cooking as well.
I cut them up for Orioles. They do not seem to mind them.

Hi Driad. I am glad that you enjoyed your time in Portugal despite the coldish weather. We have coldish weather here in Mexico as well and more rain than what we experienced in previous years.
I put a few pictures of orioles together for you in a blog section:

Klahanie:
I see there's a Thunbergia mysorensis growing in that orange tree.
I was going to grow T. mysorensis on my shade structure; however, all Thunbergia species grow much too fast here.

I love Thunbergia mysorensis for its uniqueness but you are right it is little bit rumbustious.

Yes, it is rumbustious; however, it's not as invasive as some of the other species. I cut down my Thunbergia alata 'Blushing Susan' 4 or 5 years ago....and it still pops up everywhere. I can't get rid of it!

Hi , Klahanie , we are just back from Portugal where our friends from Vancouver are "overwintering".
The oranges are in full harvest there and are very good . The weather there has been cool , according to them , but the light has been good . Between 13C and 18c most of the winter with some breeze . It was good whilst we were there , and warm in sheltered spots .
The oranges are on sale in our markets too , all sorts , very good . Bursting with Vit C , us !
Can you put on a pic of the orioles please ?
