Aaaaw a female too, our Phil's still a loner lol.

Spring is in the air. The moorhens were fighting here the other day and oh .... we think the female mallard has found the duck house, well she's been in there so lets hope she's laying.

Phil might get a 'bird' soon Kathy ;-)

Ah poor Phil maybe he hasn't found a suitable nesting site yet kathy Mrs C didn't appear until sometime after Charlie ,that's exciting news Dawn fingers crossed you will soon have a new family on your pond :o)

Thanks Angela I nearly missed her , they will leave after the nesting season is over Bik they fly up into the trees or if I surprise them ...

so they are only visitors!

Yes Bik they usually arrive early March they then look around for a nesting site which is where they stay until after the brood has hatched they then leave until next year I'm fairly sure its the same family here from one generation to the next ....

I think she is sitting on a nest somewhere Linda You can hear them clacking in the brambles but Charlie has been coming into the garden by himself this last few days ....

When we moved here several years ago we had a pheasant visiting the garden, but haven't seen him now for quite some time.

Phils still a loner!!! caught him hanging out with the mallards today maybe he's confused lol.

What a shame Linda he was just passing through ! kathy if Phil is still there I'm guessing he has a partner somewhere near-by ,tell him to stop two-timing it with the mallards :o))
