Our pair kept coming back every day for a couple of weeks but luckily for them they didn't nest here, which I'm glad about as our pond doesn't have so many safe places as yours and crows have taken over last years magpie nest !!
The male still comes back most evenings though probably for a bit of quite time from the kids lol.

Thanks everyone, she seems to be a good mum as they are hidden most of the time, in the dogwoods that overhang the pond. I did see them today though and counted 7 ducklings, quite a handful to protect. I hope they stay safe too.
