Me too! I even garden in the rain if not too bad to avoid the dreaded domestics. Thing is I always do a couple of hours tidying before I go out but a full day cleaning would be good for the house.

Klahanie was quick to spot your viburnum.
This autumn, many shrubs around the country are having a second bloom of flowers. On my blog it is the miniature lilac. Super scent ... just as lovely as in springtime !

I saw your lovely dwarf lilac, Terra . . . I love them, but mine haven't had a second flush! :((

Sheila, my mini syringa is a bush grown from a cutting I took some years ago from a mature shrub I pass when I walk to the shops.

A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that the original shrub was producing an amazing second blossoming, and I wondered whether mine would do so... and, yes, but about a fortnight after it's parent decided to flower again !

So many surprising things happening in nature this year, Terra, that I'll believe anything now!

Oh, how strange! My comment on this photo has disappeared, but the programme has let me know that someone commented after me. That's weird. What I said was it look absolutely beautiful and how much I love this time of year. Oh, and let me just add that we have now had FIVE straight days of warm sunshine in Angus....a record for this year, not known at all this spring and summer, and very welcome indeed! The garden looks better than it has done all year! Sheila...I just love your garden!

Dawn, the frost will come...enjoy it while it lasts. It can sometimes be mid October though before the first one.

Karen, we can get frosts Oct too. Sheila, I don't think think my Amelanchier is turning yet. I love the autumn, all the colours until the frost takes the leaves and then a carpet of leaves to clear up. Ugh.

Thank you Breda. That's sad to lose Acers . . maybe they were too exposed? (they hate the wind) Yes, do try pruning some of the branches if they're not looking healthy, but maybe it would be safer to Google the method first.
