That's a beautiful plant. Does this mean you are settled into your winter home? I'm going to nominate you.

Thank you Terra. :-)
Bathgate, arrived on Sunday night and not completely settled yet but enjoying the surroundings. This is a nice size of Bird of paradise plant in full bloom (I think)
Just outside of my bedroom doors out.

Klahanie:
You must be in Mexico. This clump looks like the same size plant I have in my front yard. The bird-of-Paradise here started blooming really early this year (in early August) Typically, they start flowering in early Sept.

That far south they must bloom all year.

Looks a huge clump compared to what we see in England.

Thank you all for your nice comments.

It's huge. I only ever see them growing in greenhouses at Kew or Wisley.

One of the nicer one I have seen, Feverfew

Stan:
I doubt they flower all year. They may have sporadic flowers throughout the year, like in California. The heaviest flowering occurs starting in late summer through early to mid spring.

They do bloom for our duration here. I would not know how they behave in summer.
Thanks Amy, I would not even attempt to count how many blooms this one has :-)

Klahanie:
Most likely Bird-of-Paradise would have some sporadic flowers throughout summer there, just like here in San Diego; however, they're heaviest bloom period is from fall through early to mid-spring.

That is good for us then :-)

Ms. Tulips, post those Tenerife photos. It's like a slightly warmer soucal.
I always like the Tenerife photos because the whole area like soucal, looks to have started from scratch..many parts of that Island are like botanical gardens that people live in.
It also like the bay area and soucal inthat it never really gets tropical hot..just mild warm days and balmy cooler nights.
Never a frost.
