Mini Cyclamen

Janey

By Janey

Mini Cyclamen

I wanted to show you this gorgeous mini Cyclamen which has been flowering on my kitchen windowsill for a couple of months now. it was one I bought last year in the Autumn and it flowered outside for most of the winter. Then I placed it in a shady damp sheltered spot and basically forgot about it. When I was tidying the border sometime in October, I came across it, tumbled on it's side yet covered in flower buds. I've never had one flower so profusely and it is still going strong!

I have not seen cyclamen with so many blooms before.
It is beautiful Janey. And the pot is lovely too.

Thanks everyone, I'd never had one with so many flowers. I think the secret is being on it's side so the wet didnt get to the corm, it looks more natural in a way, hardly any leaves letting the flowers spill out.

I shall look forward to neglecting it next year too...lol!

Its beautiful Janey ,and a gorgeous Christmasy colour , isn't it nice when you find a hidden treasure , I did the same Janey with the ones I bought last autumn I hid the pots up in shrubs in the spring and they are re-flowering it must be a sign of our milder winters :o)

It is stunning Gnarly....a real treat in these gloomy days....

Me neither Hb, I couldn't believe how it's just gone on and on....:))

Thanks Dd and Amy, yes I was on the verge of throwing it away, then saw a few buds coming..... It must be Amy
Are yours more natural, with fewer leaves and more flowers? I think I like the look of them better like this.

A treat to look forward to Linda...:))

Isn't it a treat when you find a plant that seems to know it's job and just goes about it!? Love cyclamen! :-)

It is Sandra! It's been such a beauty.....

Yes Lori, and it enjoyed being neglected all year lying on it's side. It must have been just what was necessary, no fussing and faffing, leaving it to look after itself.....and what a display!
