Beautiful! I tried an experiment and ran over one of my clumps with the lawnmower. It's spreading even more! mine needs a few more weeks before it will bloom.

Ahhh thats really charming Amy, we have lost so much thyme here due to the winter wet.......have to buy new plants every year....

Thanks for the tip Lori I have several patches and would always welcome more ... this spreads out on gravel Angela I imagine that helps with the drainage ..

That was my thought too, Amy. Mine is on a sandy gravelly slope. The drainage is good even if the soil quality is poor. I have two very large clumps of oregano nearby...it loves the heat and dry but grows well with a little water and the good drainage.

Lori I have the same Oregano nearby its my favourite herb I use it lots , I have a wonderful Greek Marinade using Oregano if you would like it . :o)
