Lamium (pale pink flowers) for my file (Lamium maculatum)

This evergreen Lamium should have pale pink flowers, although the patterning on the leaves is the same as my purply/pink one.

I had a pink one it died leaving the yellow one to take over which was a shame ...

Opposite here........lost the yellow one!!
Have faith Siris, will post a picture......

The yellow one goes made here. Would you like a bit?

Thanks Stera, if you meant me, but I do have the yellow archangel, Lamium galeobdolon. It puts out runners which root as they extend.

Siris, I meant DottyDaisy, Ours is on a wild bank where it can do what it likes so its spreading isn't a nuisance.

My L. galeobdolon is in the 'bog ' area along with 2 Houttuynia, which are very invasive, but they are in sunken buckets.

10 Nov, 2016

I never thought of them as bog lovers - they seem happy anywhere!

10 Nov, 2016

Stern, No they are not bog lovers, neither is the area a bog, it is just that it is contained, so rampants can't wander too far.

10 Nov, 2016

I see (I think) -a bog area that isn't a bog,lol. I understand now - didn't know about the buckets.

10 Nov, 2016

Stera, most of my mints are in sunken plastic buckets.

Best place for them! I'm about to go there myself when I've got as much of it out as I can...

Tried it..something ate it within days.

That's odd - hard to see what difference it would make to beasties that eat plants - how did they know it was in a sunken bucket rather than the ground wonder?

13 Nov, 2016

Let me explain about the 'bog'. It is v small area (small table top size) contained on 3 sides, has ordinary garden soil, but there is a pipe into it, that takes the roof water from the conservatory. It is not particularly wet. There are 2 plastic buckets sunk there, each with a Houttuynia, which have very long invasive roots. The L. galeobdolon is just loose in this area, but quite easy to pull or cut off the runners. At the pipe's exit is a Scunk Cabbage and an Himalayan Primrose. At the dryer end, a Zantedeschia and a couple of ferns. Maybe, come Spring, I should take a picture or do a blog.

That's very ingenious Siris. Do you add water yourself when there's an extended dry period?

14 Nov, 2016

Stera, yes I do, when I remember.

Fascinating leaf patterns.

18 Nov, 2016

TerraT, I now have a purply/pink and a pink flowered one, with identical leaf patterns (pink thanks to Dd). Now labelled so I don't discard one by accident.

Nice to have those different colours, Siris.
Good idea to label them all.

19 Nov, 2016

Wish the writing wouldn't come off the labels. Think I have solved the writing problem, with Wylie's solution, told to me by Simbad.

20 Nov, 2016

I agree about writing coming off labels ... such a disappointment when that happens. I edit the GoYpedia page for Plant Labels... maybe some ideas there.. you could take a look, or add a blog or photo with your comments about labels and nominate it for GoYpedia Plant Labels. I hope this helps.

20 Nov, 2016

Terra, thank you for that information, I might do a blog on plant labels, but couldn't possibly nominate myself for GOYpedia.

20 Nov, 2016

If you nominate your blog, photo or question for GoYpedia, the only person who knows of this is the GoYpedia editor for that page. Nominations are useful because editors can't keep track of all the blogs, photos and questions. I'm sure your labels blog, would be a wonderful addition to the page. Thanks.. that would be great ...

Thanks Terra, you are doing a sterling job.
