I cannot believe

I cannot believe

the amount of snow we are getting. I have not seen so much snow in 16 years. It looks pretty (this is from the sink area in the kitchen). It was falling all day today. Big flakes too. We were without the power for couple of hrs. They forecast rain for tomorrow.

LOL Hywel. You and My OH.....he does not like snow either LOL. But you "have to" admit that it looks pretty in the picture :-)

Ah ! I am glad to know of someone else who hates it :)
Sorry to disagree with you but it looks depressing to me.

I am little worry about my trees and shrubs Hywel .This is a very heavy snow and all are down to the ground. I am sure there will be some damage.

10 Dec, 2016

I hope your plants will be all right. If it rains and the snow melts soon maybe there won't be much damage.

It's picture perfect - but I'm gonna make hot chocolate now.

I like to walk on untrodden snow. Don't know why. Perhaps Mr Freud would've known.

I love the look of fresh, white snow - it looks so pretty Klahanie. Like Feverfew, I like being the first to make footprints too :))

Thank you all for your comments and personal feelings about the snow :-)

i got 6 in of snow last night Klahanie , last winter it was dry only a few inches all winter this winter it is starting out to be quite a snowy winter

13 Dec, 2016

Seems like winter is here to stay (for several months).
We should get some holiday or houseplants pictures on GOY now.

13 Dec, 2016

Nice to look at from the window but don't want to be out in it or the rain either. I hear Mexico is nice this time of year.

14 Dec, 2016

What a lovely winter scene...

14 Dec, 2016

Our friends blame us for this, Green _finger. It is always decent winter when we go to Mexico and lousy when we stay. At least that what we are told :-)

Thank you Sandra. It is very pretty looking out.

Those rains came here in buckets and now the coldest air has followed it.
It was just like yesterday in November we had 70's.
Oh well, once we past shortest day of the year? I proclaim it spring. And mean it..ha.

Klahanie:

Wow! That's a lot of snow! It's looks like a winter wonderland! I know your area doesn't get much snow. I read Seattle had a lot of snow, also.

17 Dec, 2016

Is not that something Delonix1?. I think we get one of these ever so often. I have exactly the same pictures from November 30th 2010 just a day before we were leaving for Mexico. The roads were mess all the way to California.

The spring will come eventually Stan. I hope not too bad damage to our plants in the meantime.

17 Dec, 2016

It sure doesn't feel like spring, yet! It was cold this morning even here in San Diego! However, by tomorrow and through this week, temps up to almost 80ºF (27ºC), especially Wednesday and Thursday!

19 Dec, 2016

Our temps are plummeting so quickly, I even had a mini tornado this afternoon. It hopped into the Great South Bay and became a waterspout - fascinating!

19 Dec, 2016

You might be getting some of that Polar Vortex now Bathgate. We had no more freeze last night so hopefully it is over. Waterspouts can be devastating. I was witnessing one in Mexico. The whole mountain side was washed down in 15 minutes, including dozen (or so) houses. Keep safe and warm.

Back to the shorts Delonix1 :=)

19 Dec, 2016

Klahanie:

Sorry to hear about your freezing weather!

It was chilly this morning; however, it was 75ºF (24ºC) here today. It's already much warmer tonight than last night. Yay! :>))

20 Dec, 2016

I've seen some very nasty waterspouts down in Florida, mine was very weak, but still denotes the turbulent weather we've been having. Yes, we felt the Polar Vortex. That's expected this time of year.

20 Dec, 2016

66F (19C) and still 3 hours of warming sun (give or take!) to go.
Feels nice out there. Especially when longest range forecast last week said nothing above 59 for December or January.
66f on the shortest day of the year? Seems like a good positive omen for the New Year of Gardening.

21 Dec, 2016

Stan,

I know for the first day of winter it's sure warm and mild. It was very warm today...then very heavy tropical rains come up from south of Baja Mexico. I'm so happy to see the rain! :>)
