It was lovely to see so many birds visiting the feeder this morning.

It's because it's so cold HB , doing your bit for nature !
I tipped some ice out of a water container on Sunday and it hasn't melted yet !

Great stuff HB........don't forget to count them this weekend!!

Dd I counted them a day early! - So I had to do it again... We've got problems with three pesky squirrels at the moment!!! One of them (whom I think is the male) has managed to climb my squirrel proof pole and empty the squirrel proof seed feeder! We tried greasing the pole, which did the trick for a day or so. I will say it was just so funny watching him trying to climb up, but then slipping down... But maybe he's tried so often that the grease is all over his fur coat (?) and which now means there's none left on the pole... Where is the Vaseline...? :D

lol !!Petal ten out of ten for perseverance, cheeky little devil, being as it poured with rain most of the day, never got to count them!!

Oh that's a shame! I really enjoyed the counting... :D As you know we live in a bungalow and the best views were from the bedroom windows and conservatory. I hate to think what the neighbour's would say about me if they could have seen me with the bino's :D

It was good to do the bird count for the rspb. We had starlings, blackbirds, sparrows, wagtail, robin and a few other birds too. Lovely to be able to get them through the winter by feeding them. It's been another gloomy wet and misty day today but at least it's a bit warmer.

Petal I was disappointed too, typical the week before we had so many birds, but then it was cold and frosty......
Lindak we had to stop the feeding because it is attracting the badgers again, so both neighbours have given up, we cannot afford to keeping putting up new fences.....

Our Badger must have got knocked by a car was found still alive under a neighbours shed, he'd lost the use of his rear end. I phoned the rspca and they came and took him and put him to sleep.
