Clematis 'Etoile Violette'

So jealous! My clematis always succumb to the dreaded wilt. Having said that my ‘Nelly Moser’ did very well this year.

Ours are much the same Amsterdam. They look good for a while and then all of a sudden...........!
Etoile Violette is very pretty.

I try to plant Clematis deeply and then keep their lower stem shaded by a Geranium or something similar. Seems to work.

My fave Clem, mine finished over a month ago Shirley, it was huge, just beautiful..

Now it's strange Janey, this only produced half a dozen blooms back in July. Now it seems to think it's summer!
