Herbaceous perennials and shrubs.

You're garden is looking good Hywel. Most of us have those "added extras". I got fed up with losing small tools and secateurs around the garden I bought myself a roll of neon tape and it's marvellous. I can find them easily now. You know what it's like, you're doing a job, get distracted to pull out a weed or something else you need to do and hey presto! They've disappeared. It works for me anyway.
