Well done growing this from seed.....

Yes, well done Amy! They are a really interesting flower, though I'm not sure you would call it a flower?
The red ones are my favourites, I remember seeing so many of them in Australia and the Botanical gardens in Hobart. It was a funny thing, I remember when we went through the gates initially, the first garden was like an English cottage garden! One of the volunteers said it was the type of gardening they aspire too and yet they had some wonderful gardens to look round..

That's a beautiful bright coloured one including the foliage, nicer, brighter green than next doors.

How long did it take from the sowing to this first flower?

thanks all , Janey it was nice for you to see an English garden on your travels , Ff I guess this is approx 5 years old .. it possibly might have flowered earlier if it had been planted out but I was keeping it in a pot knowing we were going to move ..its taken off since planting it in the garden ...

Well done Amy. I sowed Hoheria seed - also from the botanical gardens in the Isle of Wight - but no sign of germination 😕. This is terrific!
