Poppy field in Lincolnshire.

Driving between Appleby and Winterton on the old Roman road, Ermine Street, Lincolnshire..I did a sharp stop as I spotted this lovely field of poppies.
I do love to see an abundance of red poppies, but this was pretty too.

Wow!! I'm sure you felt like staying ages just taking it all in Kate.

That's breathtaking! Beats rapeseed any day.

Thanks ladies for the likes!
It definitely would’ve been lovely to have had some time to sit and take it all in. Unfortunately, I was en route to another patient! A quick stop, quick snap and a couple of minutes to admire!

Yes, I've seen this Kate, and yours is a fab photo of the field. I often go to the plant nursery at Appleby...

Wow! I have only ever seen red poppies in a field. This is amazing Kate !

That is a stunning sight. For what reason are they growing all those Poppys?

I thought you may have driven past this field, Janey. It’s lovely to see isn’t it! They were growing the same poppies here last summer too. I know the nursery at Appleby well.
Rose, I do prefer the red poppy, but this is a nice surprise isn’t it!
Siris, they will be harvested a bit later and used for medicinal purposes such as analgesia, ie. codeine/morphine etc.

We went to a garden centre near Brigg yesterday and saw a field of these poppies on the way there. I wish I had been able to stop and take a photo.

They really are lovely to see aren’t they, Rose! I have spotted a few over the ‘bridge’. Was it the GC on the edge of Brigg? The big one? It’s a great place, I’m hoping to drive over maybe next week as I’m off at the minute.

Yes , it was Kate ! We went there for the first time since the virus began and it is done very safely. We had lunch there too!

Oh that’s lovely, Rose! We haven’t been for a while. I think possibly pre-Christmas was the last time!
I’m pleased you enjoyed it and managed to have lunch! We’ve been thinking about taking a drive over soon - possibly next week. You’ve cemented my decision x
