This area was swept clean yesterday, and the bin filled. The leaves are from a lovely beech tree in the car park next door, but they are all blown in our direction! Back to work . . . :)

Sheila, we have 2 horse chestnuts in the green in front of us. Their leaves eddy into our front and side garden. Looking on the bright side, at least it makes for a good daily physical workout! Our compost bins are filling up very quickly, like yours.

Well done on sweeping them all up Sheila ... they can be treacherous underfoot when wet and slippery! As you know I am bagging leaves up this Autumn, hoping for some leaf mould in a year.

Yes they can Shirley ... luckily it’s not me doing the sweeping, OH is so much quicker!
Thanks for popping in Linda and Angela 🙂.

We are all in this together!!
Our tulip tree has enormous leaves and what a mess they look on the ground!
Our grassy areas are very muddy and slippery too!!

Thanks Klahanie and Chris. Before we had quite such a massive windfall, I was looking at the leaves of our Cercis canadensis ‘Forest Flame’ on the ground and they looked quite beautiful!

I agree with Linda, the leaves have dropped quicker this year, sadly! We don’t get to enjoy the autumnal colour for long..yes, looks like another task ahead, Sheila! Gosh, it’s so windy today, wouldn’t it be just perfect if the wind carried the leaves off somewhere else!

Yes, it would be lovely Kate. The leaves did seem to hang on for longer than usual, then are suddenly dropping fast. But at least that means they will all be gone soon 🙂.

Hi Sheila, it's a beautiful autumnal day here, leaves whirling and lots gathering by my garage doors. My Virginia creeper leaves are ginormous! X

The trees have lost their leaves quickly this year. Large bags come to mind as they make good compost.
