Hellebore 'Christmas Carol'

It’s a beautiful hellebore. Looks a really healthy plant, Shirley. Has a Christmassy feel to it too! Very apt.

Thank you both ... I shall plant it in a pot to start with to enable the flowers to be seen from the kitchen window.

Thanks Amy, I have just potted it up, in the greenhouse, while the hailstones are clattering down on the roof! It's like night time now at 3.45 ... :o(

I dug my old Christmas flowering hellebore out in the summer, it was truly past its best so when I'm allowed out again, I'll look for another..:))

Thanks Sheila and Chris . . . I have noticed many nurseries/companies are now selling it. I dead-head it regularly and it is blooming really well.

After seeing your picture I went out and bought a hellabore ‘Niger’ so thank you for giving me some inspiration. It has been given a new home in front of my new rose trellis.

Well done ... just remove the faded blooms before they set seed and it should carry on flowering ... :o)
