This hellebore is planted in a little raised bed. It has produced a few flowers so far and several buds. It’s unfortunately suffered a little with the weather.

Thank you, Ange. It’s the only one that’s bloomed so far...
What a shame your not so happy with yours at the minute, is it the weather that’s made them the way they are this year?

Kate, I do like white Hellebores and am very happy to say the H. 'Christmas Carol' recently is flowering merrily away!

Yes, Kate, I think it's the rain. We bought a few from one nursery whose hellebores are recommended and they've generally been weak-necked and not particularly healthy. We've discarded 2 of them and it looks as if more will go. The 'Harvington Hybrids' which are generally available have been much better plants in our garden.

That’s good to hear, Shirley!!

That’s a real pity, Ange...especially when they have been recommended too.
I’ll have to look up the hybrid ones you’ve mentioned. I hope those will do well in the garden for you.

Mine are very slow to surface this year I'm not sure that they like the soil here ,

I haven’t noticed if my other hellebores are waking up yet? I’ll have to check out the ‘hidden ones’.

All mine look hideous at the moment, although I sheared off the leaves. This is a lovely one. I prefer the whites.
