People sacrificed so much in so many ways to keep our freedom. It must have been a terrible time to live through. I just wish that the leaders of all countries would work together for peace and unity for the planet's sake as well in these difficult times that we are going through at the moment with the virus and climate change. We've all got to try and do our bit to help too.

I have to agree with Sue. I actually turned over to Sky news to continue, as they had live shots from a few places in the UK.

Linda, you are so right!
Glad you agree Kate. I have been observing the silence usually over the kitchen sink for more years than I care to think. Going straight back to the scheduled program was quite a shock. We have never had a telly so didn't have the switch option.

The BBC could have given more time to the event. They spend enough time chatting about everyday things.

The service at our village Cenotaph was the best attended for several years. We are remembering here. There were the usual drivers trying to drive through the village via the four roads closed off in the Square during the service.

Thank you for this. The BBC had the 2 mins silence but not even reveille afterwards. Are we forgetting after all?
