Fatsia japonica 'Spider's Web'

I have this one in the front garden, but no flowers as yet!
It's lovely!

That is beautiful it looks as if it is covered in sparkly frost!

Rose, this is planted in an East facing border, gets morning sun.

Chris, often described as being dusted with icing sugar!

It is very pretty and looks as if it has a sprinkling of glittery frost.

Mine is in the wrong place Shirley then as it gets the evening sun!
But I had moved it there early on the year as it was taking over where it was, so maybe I will get to see the flowers!

Another GoY member (Amy2 perhaps?) moved hers as it wasn't thriving - I wonder how it's doing now?

Good to know my memory is still intact - sometimes! 👍😂 I was quite taken by it & that's no doubt why I remembered it!

It's very pretty. I remember the other photo too, for the same reason as Balcony. I haven't room for such big shrubs in my garden.

Sandra, if left un-pruned it could reach 9ft. but I shall keep it to a smaller size than that, probably about 6ft., which will take some years as it grows about 8-12" per year. Here is some info. I found about this pretty shrub: Fatsia japonica 'Spider's Web'

Position: partial shade.
Soil: moist, well-drained soil.
Rate of growth: average.
Flowering period: September to October.
Hardiness: frost hardy (may need winter protection) ...
Garden care: Prune lightly in mid to late spring, trimming shoots that spoil the symmetry.

Thank you for that,Shirley,sadly ,it would probably not be happy in my garden,even if I had room for it,as although our back garden is East facing, we have a wide patio between the Bungalow,and the garden,so it gets sun from both east and south,till well into the afternoon..same with the long border at the front..Oh drat !! x

Sandra, that's a shame. Mine is freezing today ... as was I earlier when I knocked the ice off the bird baths ... :o(
