That is a lovely Mahonia,Julia ,I'm hoping the ones which were butchered on a neighbours banking,will have some flowers this year,as it is is all starting to grow again !

Yes,It will probably have done a lot of the shrubs good,but could have been done with more finesse ,by someone who knew what they were doing, and not at nesting time,as Blackbirds used to nest there,so I hope they come back next year..

I have the Mahonia Japonica which doesn't flower until early spring. I do like the way you have shaped this!

It is a gorgeous show of colour, Julia! I'm thinking now I should maybe buy a couple for the bund?? Sandra mentioned her neighbours banking and had a light bulb moment!!!

Gorgeous Julia and a fabulous shape too. I too pruned the lower branches of mine, though mine will be a taller shape. It'll let some air through it too. I love the long spikes of flowers..
