Yesterday morning. Part of Neolithic stone circle.

According to Bill Bryson, he reckons the UK probably has more neolithic and other prehistoric remains than any where else.
There are standing stones all over. Yorkshire has quite a few too.

Wiltshire is full of long barrows, too. I love this landscape. Silbury Hill is only a stretch away. Another enigma.

I do love our history around our islands. I’d agree, I can imagine it’s another one of our ‘enigmatic’ sites.

It looks quite eerie with the stones all in a row, but fascinating too!

I would like to visit the stones much further north, Kate, on Orkney. One day!
Rose, lots of the stones are missing and what are left are degraded, but lots are still 10-20ft tall (our estimate!). The ditches and banks make a very prominent circle.

Hope you do get to Orkney Ange … it’s a really wonderful, fascinating group of islands. Windy though so no trees!
