Fabulous. There is a hotel near Worthing seafront where the frontage is covered with this (I think that's what it is!) and somebody has the task of carefully cutting it away all around the many windows!

It is vigorous Shirley. Yes it will cover anything in its way, then the leaves have dropped..

Lovely to have but I expect you'll have to prune it back well when the leaves have fallen and the bare bones are showing......sorry it is Halloween....

Beautiful Boston Ivy!!! Just wish mine would actually grow!!! Bizarrely it's still 2 feet from first planted a few years ago.

Haha Linda! No I don't prune it. I think it depends on it's position really. I have another on the north facing wall which hasn't coloured up yet. It's shot up from about 5 ft to 15ft as it does every year. When the leaves fall, I can get my pruners behind it then just pull, and down it comes till the next year..

It's on the rockery, Janey, next to an ivy and a sprawling rose. Its a sort of mingle along the fence..I thought it'd be off like a shot!
Any thoughts? 🤔

It could be that it can't cling to the fence very well with it's suckers? Maybe it needs resiting and given a feed in the spring...

Shirley, there's a hotel here as well that has all its frontage covered - but with Ivy! It's been that way for at least 60 years now! It's pruned back twice a year I think. It's spring time foliage is a wonder to behold! 😀
