Butterballs Apple's still holding on..:o)

We have heavy rain today, but Butterball's golden apples take some knocking off, still hanging on after the leaves have dropped..

Janey, that's a lovely photo. Yesterday I shooed a fat Pigeon off of a branch of our Crabapple as it was bending down with his/her weight!

I can’t get over how good your raised bed looks!

Yes I agree with Sheila, it looks brilliant!
Great photo Janey!

Such a lovely photo.

Shirley, they are such pests aren't they! I bet your tree is looking fab right now. This one is pretty stunted, but I keep it small.

Thank you Sheila..:o) There's still some summer plants in there, I haven't the heart to take them out whilst they're still flowering.

Thank you both Roses!!

Janey, mine is slow growing, but full of fruit. I saw the strangest bird today, looked like a regular Pigeon until I saw the head which looked more like a Collared Dove!

It's such a pretty garden you have, Janey! Looks gorgeous no matter the weather.

Goodness Shirley, I hope the pigeons and doves aren't cross mating?? Whatever next!
Did you post a pic of your crab apple? Would love to see it..:))

Oh thank you Kate, I do like my new resin, it looks sunny even in the downpours ☺

Janey, I always think the Collared Doves have sweet little faces, which the bird I saw did have, but the body was clearly bigger and more like a Pigeon. I shall take a photo of the Crabapple tomorrow for you!

Such a lovely view of your garden…..

Look forward to seeing it Shirley..😊
Now are you sure that pigeon wasn't just smiling at you, making it look more dove like than ever?? If in a few weeks if it has an olive branch in its beak, well you'll know it is one fat dove after all, and we can cope with those can't we.. thinking of that though, have you ordered your Xmas bird yet..Haha!

Thank you Dd, how are you? How's your garden?

We got our "bird" several days ago! It looks like there may not be many around next month, so we decided that the early bird gets the "crown" πŸ‘‘πŸ˜‚πŸ‘

20 Nov, 2022

Haha Balc! I do like a Turkey crown. All those fat legs and wings, they're not for me. Thats right, it'll be one mad rush in a couple of weeks. I do dislike Christmas food shopping!

20 Nov, 2022

Janey, my daughter has seen it too and said how sweet it's face was! She is cooking Christmas lunch, beef and ham, so I just need to do a Gammon for a Boxing Day buffet. Easy-peasy!

20 Nov, 2022

A sweet faced wood pigeon, well it can't help being a pigeon can it? Now all my leaves have dropped off my golden birch tree, there is this year's nest..:(( I must admit I haven't been plagued like last year. With the way things are now, maybe those traditional recipes for roast pigeon breast and pigeon pie will become popular....better watch out woodies!

That's great Shirley, yes the least cooking the better. I always did Christmas day lunch and tea and boxing day buffet years past. Did enjoy it then too. I'm not sure what is going on this year, beam me over to Oz and we'll have a bbq on the beach!

21 Nov, 2022

Janey, I love the idea of a barbecue on the beach ... something I doubt I shall ever experience though! Chilly with torrential rain today.

21 Nov, 2022

Yes, my son and family live there Jane. I've been lucky to be able to travel a few times, but never at Xmas...

21 Nov, 2022

How strange it seems to us used to cold weather at Christmas to have our Christmas meal on a hot beach in the hot sunshine!!! πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚

Janey, if I remember correctly they lived on Tasmania at one time?

21 Nov, 2022

Yes it is weird Balc, but they're used to it now. What I find strange is talking about December and January being mid summer!

They did Shirley, just for a year. I visited then when it was late summer for them. It's most unusual the parts I visited.
Can't find my teucrium on Google, very odd.

21 Nov, 2022

Janey, I found Teucrium x lucidrys with pink flowers. Your variety perhaps?

21 Nov, 2022

I've had a look, but mines more robust. The flowers are tiny pea flowers, but the stem full of them. It's not an airy plant either. I'll post pics on the Questions later..

Ooh lovely Sandra, only been there once when I was 18, but I can remember the heat and the vivid sea colour, hadn't been that far south before! Yes there is quite a lot of colour around, thank you. Pleased you enjoyed your hols. x
