Wings are closed while it rested. It flew far too quickly for me to get a decent in-flight photo!

Chris, that's very kind of you to say so! I sat for a good half hour this afternoon, just watching the insects flying/crawling around. A little green shield bug crawled over the table ... glad it didn't climb into my glass of water!

Kate, that is certainly true! It is a beautiful sunny day down here ... went for a walk to the beach and a fair few swimmers were in the sea.

Ah, it posed for me! It's the white ones that always seem to be so frantic, flying and barely landing for long. They seem to like the mauve of the Verbena bonariensis and the Bowles's Mauve today.

Great to see it Shirley, they are such a pretty weeney butterfly. It may be a Holly blue.
