Sheila you'll probably find you can't put it down after a while once you get used to it! They have sooo many uses & it's like having a small computer with you that you can look at all the time as well as interact with!

When my sister-in-law got hers a year or two ago she was screaming blue murder & threatening to destroy it - now? she can hardly put the thing down! 😆 😆 😆

Thanks David for your encouragement! Trouble is I’m a slow learner and my teacher (OH) isn’t the most patient of men! But it has meant that I’m now included in two friendly WhatsApp groups, and I can see how useful that is 🙂.

Yes, contacting friends by WhatsApp is a major benefit Sheila and also talking to your family in Oz won't cost either. Sharing photos is great too. I do my GoY messaging by phone as my iPad is old now, and so far I haven't bought a newer one..x

Shelia my sister-in-law had to do it mostly on her own, by trail & error lots of 😤(angry outbursts). Our son who still lives there has helped her no end of times as well as a few people she knows from her local "watering hole". The help desk from her phone company has to have an enormous amount of patience with her as she always phoning them for one reason or another!

As she hasn't got, nor wants, broadband at home she has a very good contract with her phone provider that gives her an enormous amount of data. She talks to my wife for hours some days through WhatsApp. They call each other 3 or 4 times (or more!) a day which wouldn't be possible through landline as my wife used to do with her mother. Back then we got preferential rates on international calls but they couldn't talk as long or as often as her two daughters do!

Thanks Balcony. I’m now a member of two WhatsApp groups. Tomorrow there’s a coffee meeting with one in which one friend has offered to help me if need be. So that’s lovely 🙂.

That's very good, Sheila! My wife & I had to learn by trail & error with no one to help us but we now manage our phones like any "teen"! 😆
