A customer where I hang my paintings asked me to paint this particular butterfly. She had moved from Nottingham to a small village not far from us.In the summer she noticed many Red Admirals feeding off the fruit from her Damson tree.It would be a reminder for her.I think we might have only seen 1 last year.It was a very intricate painting to do.
