A treat to myself!

A treat to myself!

I bought this pretty Hellebore in a local florist and it has really cheered me. It doesn’t have a name, so I’m calling it ‘Pamplemousse’ after the shop I bought it in.

I’m gradually getting better and can now m9ve about pretty well without a walking stick. I even took Niamh out for a little walk in the sunshine today. I’m very tired, so still taking it easy and resting up. We get our new house a week tomorrow and we had our preview last week. It will be so lovely to have sunshine to sit in at last. The front of the house faces West so I’ll definitely be having a chair at the front door where I can sit and watch the Red Kites flying over the trees. Bliss!

Fantastic to hear you’re nearly in your new home! Don’t do too much at first … difficult not to I know, but try to let others do what needs to be done. Great news that your health is slowly improving Karen.

I didn't know you had problems Karen, but hope you will be fit again soon to get out in your garden.

Lovely plant for your new garden Karen. Yes, it's been good to see the sunshine today. Take it steady and rest when you can. x

Thanks dear friends. I managed to walk around the lake at Stourhead today! Felt a bit dizzy after in Waitrose, but managed ok. Xx

Karen, I'm sorry you've been unwell, I didn't realise. I've missed a few things recently. Sometimes, if I'm busy with work, I don't get the chance to pop on here.
It sounds like you've really had a terrible time! I just hope you're starting to feel better and are managing to get around safely! Keep safe and sending you my best.
Ps. Gorgeous hellebore! A great buy!

Thanks Kate. I get a tiny bit better every day. Today I have almost done my 4 miles for the first time in absolutely ages. I’m doing really well…some people take years to get over this and the usual time is 1-3 months, so I am very pleased with my progress. At the time, when I went into hospital it was very frightening, and hospital was truly horrible. But since I got out I’ve done great! Thanks so much xx

Oh, I think self-gifting is definitely the way to go, Karen!
Glad you're on the mend and have the chance to really enjoy your new surroundings. Also, a new home to look forward to is a real boost - so many plans to make for the warmer seasons.
Good luck with the move.

Thanks Ange. Tonight will be our third night in our new home. We’re getting there but gosh, it’s exhausting!

Glad to hear you’re in Karen. Try not to do too much too soon … you need to be kind to yourself after your recent troubles. x

Now that is a very pretty Hellebore, just the right kind of gift to cheer yourself up. Take it easy in your new home and remember Rome wasn't built in a day!
