it's a beauty, Hywel. I'm thinking I should consider growing one in a pot. My one planted out Camellia is virtually gone..
I appreciate they prefer more acidic soil.

I planted it in a pot so that I could put it near the door where I can see it. They need ericaceous compost Kate.

Ours is in a pot and also seems happy - fingers crossed for both of us!!

In a garden near me there was a huge C just like yours ( at least 15 feet). They have been tidying up their overgrown garden & have given it the chop. It is now about 4ft & in a very tidy neat square. It looks so odd in this shape though flowering profusely. Other shrubs are now all in round neat Pom poms! It is obviously quite a vigorous variety & very beautiful. I do wish people would prune to make things look more natural though. If yours is ever planted out, it will romp away. :-)
