Thank you Shirley, it's a pity the plant isn't evergreen, it would be nice to see those leaves in the winter, but they will fall soon.
It is said to produce red berries but since it's new to me this year I haven't seen any yet.

Hywel, I just looked on the RHS site for this plant and it comes up as toxic if eaten (who would do that?) and advises wearing gloves when pruning etc.
