it came from a pkt of Mr.Fothergill's seeds called Shirley single mixed

What a lovely colour! We can buy Mr.Fothergill's seeds here but they are usually in with the more expensive British seeds.

to be honest Gilian , i haven't bought many pkts of seeds, usually get them free with my gardening magazine

Lovely poppy. I have scattered hundreds of poppy seeds around my garden but not one has come up. I even brought a poppy plant, it had one flower and then disappeared overnight - I suspect slugs!

awww gee, poppies were the only things the slugs or snails didnt eat in my garden
