Feels like Bali - I can't believe you can grow exotics way up north in the UK Dee?!?! It's fantastic to say the least. :-) You're neighbours must be astounded, surely?

Thanks Dottyd and jenn, my neighbours arent interested in gardening, sadly, thats why i joined garden forums to share my love of gardening, i would never of tried exotics if it werent for the encouragement of other gardeners on these forums..

Wonderful picture!

I do not think your self descriptions does you justice. "...im nosy and love to nick a few of your design ideas ..." Looks like you have the touch.

I cannot see everything you have done, but I would add some color to the green texture. Yes I know about the Cannas. Is that the purple leafed form, or the variegated? The brown leafed Rodgersia might be a possiblity, and I would consider the gold of the grass Hakenochlea. Libertia peregrinans for bronze Iris like foliage. I also grow a beautiful deep gold colored Bamboo (it would need to be contained before planting) -- can't remember the name off top.

Old age, you know.

Weird thing I was planning to do something the same in the front of my house, then chickened off. Hardy Banana, Gunnera, canna and some of the things I mentioned. Trouble is, I live in a fairly modest old farmhouse some 100 yrs. old and I relented to the pressure of landscaping to fit. The shoe I had, would not easily accept the colored stockings I was going to put into it.

Question, how did you imbed that date on that photo?
I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0 could I do it with that program. Boy oh boy, is it a memory hog on my old computer.

I will check out more photos!

Hi YoungDaiseyDee

This is Secateur with a new name. I am slowly deleting the old ID and will be posting as Skyline.

The reasons are in my new intro. Mostly based on the fact that everyone I asked to visit here could not spell Secateur and all know me as Skyline. Simple as that. Makes much more sense. It also has less of a cutting touch to it, don't you think. :-)
I have had that name for over twenty years. It will be so here I hope as well.

I am slowly emptying the other folder and I hope that when I am done Ajay can delete it. I will contact him at that time.

It is Turkey Day here in the States, and the dead chicken is being unthawed. :-).

Hi Skyline, Thanks a bunch for your comments :), Im starting a new Tropical border next year, and some great suggestions there, ill write them down and look for them in spring.. As for the date on my pics my camera has that facility built in...Dee..

You also had a picture of a Brugmansia. My own are starting to bloom again.
They are ten feet tall in a greenhouse. I note that the intensity of the flower color depends on the solar condition. The same plant outside will have a different color.

The lighting on the above phot is Great. I will have to check my own camera if I can do that as well. It does wreck the photo for other purposes though. A must crop situation. So far my Photo editing program might provide me with the possibility of entering TEXT onto the photo. i could put the date in that way.

I do strongly recommend the Hakenochlea. New selections are available that might even be better than my own. Foliage fireworks always wins!

Fantastic garden Youngdaisydee! You've given me the confidence to begin adding tropical plants next year. What's the name of that green leafed plant at the bottom of your picture, in between the Fatsia/Fern on the left and grass on the right? It's gorgeous.

Thanks Nickya, what a lovely thing to say :) ive popped over to look at your pics and i think your garden is gorgeous, love the way the path leads you around into something unknown, maybe a few tropicals in that part of your garden would be a fantastic suprise :)) wish i had a bigger garden :)) you have an eye for design so no matter what you do it will be gorgeous.. That plant in my pic, as it was last year i cant remember, its silver something and its on the tip of my tongue lol, when i remember ill let you know tho..
