He's neat. What kind of tortoise is he? I was thinking of getting an spur thigh tor. until I found out how big they get! They are such neat creatures.

When we moved to the Isle of wight and bought our first home, the garden was like a jungle. In fact we found a grass snake living in it. A large and ferocious tortoise joined us as well for a year and used to snap at us if we went anywhere near him.We don't know where he came from and never found out where he went to, but he was a real character.

That sounds like a snapping turtle rathe than a tortoise! Tortoises are usually very placid and easy-going. I had one years ago that was very bolshy - he had a black shell and I discovered some time later that these are a particular type and are known for their aggressive behaviour to other tortoises. Little 'Un is a sweetie.
