I used to think of this plant (kaffir lily) as being too tender for Scotland, in fact my wife reminded me this plant was flowering last christmas in its first year

I've never grown this but it looks beautiful.
I'm trying to get more colour in my garden for later in the year because mine is such a springtime garden.
How would I start growing this please ? :o)

this has to be one ot the easiest plants to grow in my garden, you may see it in the aquatic plant section of your local garden center but don't be fooled this will grow in just about any soil conditions short of bone dry, I now have three varieties of this including Coccinea Major which has red flowers and recently acquired Countess Byng which has finely cut petals (pink)

saw a website recently which specialized in Michaelmas daises and the autumn colour is spectaclular in fact I have it here, it is www.autumnasters.co.uk, I've got sedum autumn joy planted with some blue asters and the effect is electrifying, I fully intend to extend these for next year

Thanks for all the info. Please confirm which variety is in the above picture, and whether you have photos of the other two identified amongst your pictures. Thanks for your time in doing this. :o)
