Have you got lots of conkers TT? You would end up with a brown shiny tree though and what about all the strings you've attached????? ;o)

I like it as is Mike, very nice work!
If you want you might add a small ring of greenery with berries around the base, but it doesn't really need it!!
You could also add a spray of clear gloss if you want. It would add a shiny look, which will reflect light.

Fantastic! I really like home made decorations. They seem so much nicer than a lot of plastic/artificial ones. Thanks for the instructions for this. I'm sure lots of us will be having a go at making one.

Thank you for all the positive comments on the tree. I don't have that much time on my hands treesandthings... I usually put in about 45 to 50 hours a week at work :)

I've seen them done with pine cones Panther... What's great about the pine cones is that they open up once they are in the heat of the house and the tree gets nice and full.

Makes an elegant statement....I like Wohli's idea of the greenery and berries at the base.....

Thank you all for your positive comments. Once the holidays are over with I decided that I'm going to randomly add cranberries and also Wohlibuli's idea of greenery and more berries at the base.
