This photo was taken March 10, 2007. It is a male papaya plant with fruit hanging down on what look like ropes. It is very unusual for a male plant to produce fruit. Sorry, for the darkness of the photo. This plant I discovered in 2002 and still continues to produce fruit. The plant is around 25 feet/ 8 meters tall

It's a first for me too...it is very unusual for a male papaya plant to produce fruit. I know this papaya plant produces fruit every year. I've read in the rarest occasion males flowers produce fruit. I wanted to attempt to buy some seeds from the owner, however, they didn't speak English and weren't very friendly.
These people have an incredible orchard though, growing many varieties of Bananas, Tropical Guavas, Citrus and Sugar Cane, Cherimoya, Mango, Strawberry Guava, and many other exotic plants.

It's amazing how hardworking these farmers are to be able to maintain an orchard the size you just mentioned. A pity too they don't speak English.

Panther,
I'm not sure if they're farmers, however, they have about a 2 acre lot with many trees and plants. It would definitely be a lot of work to maintain it.
