My 2yr Old Home Grown Rhododendron Cutting !

Its Never Flowered but has Grown alittle, Do u think this yr it Might Flower or Just Grow Some More from the Buds that are Visable in This Pic??

I'd be surprised if it flowers after only 2 years but you might get the odd one.But a very successful cutting.

Yes, quite often the way but you'll be pleased you bothered in a few years when it's flowering and growing away. Not too mention proud!

It's so exciting when cuttings work isn't it Jac! I've got a Rhodo cutting - did it by aerial layering last year. Bit of a fiddly way of doing it. It's doing well tho! Did you just strike a cutting in the usual way? What time of year did you take the cutting Jac?

This was a Layering Cutting i took from my friends Rhod Sarah ! It was laying on the soil Under The Parent Bush with Roots already growing from it & i took it this tiime of Year Hope this Helps Ladys ?:)

Thanx Milky it looks much better this yr more Leafs & Taller :) il do a Blog on it some Time 2 show what it looked like last yr this time ! Then when it does Flower i can add the Photo 2 the Blog :)

My Pleasure TT .If u know any 1 who has a Rhododendron & its Branches seem 2 Laying low its always worth Lifting Them 2 see if theres Any Branches that Have Rooted TT :) I took 5 From My friends Bush & This is the only surviver :( So take Plenty if u see them :)

Thanks for the advice.
I've made baby hydrangea plants from the adults, so why not Rhododendrons, too. Good suggestion about taking plenty if possible. :o)

Two likes for your Rhododendron. That's very impressive...I've read Rhododendrons are not that easy to propagate from cutting.
